Transportation and Getting Around Austin

Austin is a big city with a very active downtown. But don’t worry to much about getting around, with proper planning it can be easy to navigate and find transportation and parking.

We suggest checking a maps app like Google Maps or Waze ahead of time so that you can properly plan your route and timing. This way you can also locate any parking garages that may be close by incase you do not want to search around for street parking.

Parking in the downtown area within walking distance of the start and finish lines is plentiful. There are numerous free and paid parking garages and surface lots as well as free on-street parking downtown.

Always double-check signs before you park but most on-street metered spots are free of charge on Sundays.

If you plan on parking on the east side of Congress, take I-35 to Ceasar Chavez. If you plan on parking on the west side you can take MoPac to 5th & 6th Streets. You will not be able to cross Congress Ave by car.

Plan to arrive at least 45 – 30 minutes before your start time.
