Austin Marathon Registration Policy

  • All emails regarding transfer options, deferrals, or refunds will be automatically redirected to this page. 
  • Standard Entries are non-refundable. There are no refunds or deferrals. 
  • Merchandise, including photo packages and name plates, is not eligible for refunds.
  • Refunds are only available if you purchased Spot registration protection coverage.
  • All changes to registration must be completed through the official Austin Marathon process.
  • Unauthorized bib sales or transfers will result in disqualification and banning of all involved parties from future events.
  • No changes are allowed after 3:00 PM on the Saturday before the event.
  • Policies and dates may be updated at any time at the discretion of the event. Transfers may be closed in the event of a sold out event/distance.

All registration changes are made by logging into your EventDog account.

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) Registration protection (CFAR) is offered at time of registration.

  • To see if you purchased coverage, log in to your EventDog.com account and check your registration merchandise.
  •  If you purchased Spot CFAR Protection, submit claims by following the steps below. If you cannot find your spot account you can email spot@getspot.com.
    1. Please log in to your Spot Account.
    2. Navigate to the coverage for your purchase, click “Request Refund”.
    3. Complete the refund request flow and submit the payoff quote.
    4. Spot will reach out via email to confirm that your Booking cancellation has been processed.
    5. Following this confirmation, Spot will issue you a refund within 72-96 hours.
  • Registration Protection cannot be purchased after registration has been completed.
  • Merchandise, including photo packages and name plates, is not eligible for refunds.

If You Did Not Purchase Registration Protection

You may choose one of the following options:

  1. Transfer to another distance
  2. Transfer to the Virtual Austin Marathon
  3. Transfer to the Spurs Austin International Half (January 18, 2026)
  4. Transfer your entry to another person (official bib transfer)

To use any of these options:

  • Log in to your EventDog.com account.
  • Select your Austin Marathon registration, then carefully choose the transfer or change option that best fits your situation.
  • Once submitted, your selection is final and cannot be reversed.

Please review all details for each option as explained below before confirming your change.

Option 1: Transfer to Another Distance (Same Event Weekend)

  • Switch between Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K through your account.
  • No refunds for moving to a shorter distance.
  • Merchandise purchases and transaction fees are non-refundable.

Option 2: Transfer to the Virtual Event

  • Switch your standard entry to the Virtual Austin Marathon at no cost.
  • Full virtual details are here.
  • Virtual packets begin shipping after event weekend.
  • Virtual switches made after January 1 may experience delayed processing and shipping.

CLOSED —- Option 3: Transfer to the Spurs Austin International Half

Move your Austin Marathon entry to the Spurs Austin International Half Marathon which takes place on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

CLOSED —- Option 4: Transfer to Another Person

  • All bib transfers must be completed through the official transfer process on EventDog.com.
  • We are not responsible for any payments or agreements made outside this process.
  • Participating with a bib that has not been officially transferred will result in disqualification and banning of both parties from future events. 
  • The transferred bib cannot change distances, if they wish they can go through the process of distance transfers as outlined above.
  • Event merchandise is tied to the registration and moves with the bib to the replacement runner; it cannot be refunded, exchanged, or separated.
  • The replacement runner must:
    • Use the official transfer link sent after approval.
    • Complete their own registration.
    • Pay the transfer fee.
  • All bib transfers are final.
