Austin Marathon Registration Policy

To ensure a smooth experience, please keep the following in mind:

  • All email inquiries regarding transfer options, deferrals, or refunds will be automatically redirected to this page. 
  • All standard entries, merchandise, and fees are non-refundable and non-deferrable.
  • Entry refunds are only available to those who purchased Spot Registration Protection at the time of sin-up.
  • All changes to registration must be completed through the official Austin Marathon process via EventDog.com.
  • Bib transfers to another person are prohibited. Any Bib sales will result in disqualification and banning of all involved parties from future events.
  • Policies and dates may be updated at any time at the discretion of the event. Transfers option may be closed in the event of a sold out event/distance.
  • The 5K distance is non-transferable.

If You Purchased “Spot” Registration Protection

If you purchased Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage at checkout, you may be eligible for up to 90% refund.

To check your coverage:

  1. Log in to your account at EventDog.com.
  2. Select the desired event.
  3. Click on the Transfers & Spot tab.
  4. If coverage was purchased at sign-up, the option “Cancel Registration with Spot Registration Protection” will be visible.
  5. Click “Begin Refund” and follow the prompts to request your refund directly through Spot.

Registration Protection cannot be purchased after registration has been completed.

Merchandise, including photo packages and name plates, is not eligible for refunds.

If You Did Not Purchase Registration Protection

You may choose one of the following options:

  • Transfer to another distance
  • Transfer to the Virtual Event
  • Transfer to the Spurs Austin International Half (January 17, 2027)

To choose one of these options:

  • Log in to your EventDog.com account.
  • Select your Austin Marathon or Half registration, then carefully choose the option that best fits your situation.
  • Once submitted, your selection is final and cannot be reversed.

Please review all details for each option as explained below before confirming your change.

Transfer to Another Distance

  • All transfers are subject to availability and capacity limitations.
  • There are no refunds for moving to a shorter distance.
  • Merchandise purchases and transaction fees are non-refundable.

Courtesy Distance Change Opportunities & Transfer Fees:

Marathon to Half Marathon or 5K

             $49 through November 1             $69 from November 2 through February 1             $89 from February 2 through February 12

Half Marathon to Marathon or 5K

             $49 through November 1             $69 from November 2 through February 1
             $89 from February 2 through February 12

The 5K distance is non-transferable

Transfer to the Virtual Event

Switch your in-person entry to the Virtual Event

    • Participants in the virtual event will be given a two-week window after event day to submit your timing results.
    • You can tackle the entire distance in one go or break it down into manageable segments.

      Virtual Participants will receive:

      • Official Event shirt
      • Finisher shirt (26.2 distance only)
      • Finisher Medal

  • Merchandise purchases and transaction fees are non-refundable.
  • Virtual packets begin shipping after event weekend.
  • Packets cannot be shipped outside the U.S.

Transfer Fee: $15.00

Transfer to the Spurs Austin International Half

Move your Austin Marathon entry to the Spurs Austin International Half Marathon which takes place on Sunday, January 17, 2027.

Transfer Fees:

             $35  + price difference – through November 1             $45 + price difference – November 2 – Jan 16
