What if I Need to Change My Registration?

AUSTIN MARATHON REGISTRATION POLICY
High Five Events, the producer of this event, employs full-time staff who work year-round to ensure a high-quality experience. Many event costs, including supplies and services, are paid well in advance, which limits our ability to offer refunds.
All registration transfers must be approved and processed through High Five Events and The Austin Marathon. Unauthorized transfers or sales of race entries/bibs will result in disqualification, removal from the race without a refund, and a ban from future High Five Events races. Participants using another person’s bib through an unapproved transfer will face the same penalties.
Requests cannot be processed for an event that has already taken place.
The Austin Marathon Registration Policies are subject to change at any time.
Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) Insurance
If you purchased Spot Cancel For Any Reason Insurance (CFAR) during registration, you can submit a claim to request a refund directly to Spot Insurance at spot@getspot.com. CFAR can only be purchased during the registration process and cannot be added afterward.
If you did not purchase CFAR insurance, we’re happy to offer the options below.
Transfer Options
TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DISTANCE
- Participants may transfer to a different distance hosted by the Ascension Seton Austin Marathon. Not available after 3:00 PM on Saturday before event day.
- Once a transfer request has been submitted, it cannot be reversed.
- Price differences between events will not be refunded if transferring to a shorter distance.

TRANSFER TO THE VIRTUAL EVENT

The deadline to transfer to the virtual event is February 8. This option is not available after the deadline.
There is no cost to transfer to the virtual event.
TRANSFER TO ANOTHER PERSON
Participants may transfer their registration to another person of their choice, but they are responsible for finding the recipient. A transfer fee applies based on the race distance. Once a transfer request is submitted, it cannot be reversed.
The deadline to request a person to person transfer is February 8. This option is not available after the deadline.

How it works: Once the request is approved, the owner of the bib will receive an email with a customized registration link that includes the transfer fee that they will forward to the person they are transferring the bib to. The recipient of the new link will fill out the new registration form and pay the transfer fee.
For the safety of all participants, participants may not give or sell their entry to anyone as a part of a non-approved transfer. Approved transfers will be processed through EventDog.com. Transaction fees cannot be refunded. Shirt size is not guaranteed for transferred registrations.
TRANSFER TO THE AUSTIN INTERNATIONAL HALF
Event Day is Sunday, January 18, 2026
Participants may transfer to the Austin International Half which takes place on Sunday, January 18. Option not available after 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 18. Once a transfer request has been submitted, it cannot be reversed. Check out this event!
