This guide contains a quick look at most of the information you will need for the 2023 Ascension Seton Austin Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K.

Friday, February 17, 2023 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday, February 18, 2023 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pro Tip: Remember, the first hour of both days is always the busiest time, so consider coming after.

Palmer Event Center

What You Need To Bring:
- Photo ID
- Bib Number – this will be emailed to you and there will also be QR codes that you can scan on-site to look up your bib number, or click here.
Parking in the Palmer Event Center garage is available for $7.00. There is also street parking available close by at Butler & Auditorium Shores park.
Gear Bags
Gear bags will be in your swag bag. If you misplace or forget yours, there will be some that can be picked up race morning at the gear bag tent located between 6th & 7th street on Congress Ave.
We will not accept any other bags. Be sure your bib number is printed as largely and clearly as possible on the bag before you turn it into Gear Check.
Race Day Parking
Parking in the downtown area within walking distance of the start and finish lines is plentiful. There are numerous free and paid parking garages and surface lots as well as free on-street parking downtown.
Plan to arrive at least 45 – 30 minutes before your start time. Review more parking tips.

Aid Stations:
Will be stocked with water and Lemon-Lime Endurance nuun. There will also be restrooms with hand sanitizer stands.
Energy Zone: Located at Mile 9 and Mile 20
GU will have an energy zone stocked with:
- GU Gel Flavors: Lemon Sublime, Salted Watermelon (Caffeine), Vanilla Bean (Caffeine)
- Energy Chews Flavors: Orange Energy.
Pacers:
There will be pace groups for the following times: 3:00, 3:05, 3:10, 3:15, 3:20, 3:25, 3:30, 3:35, 3:40, 3:45, 3:50, 3:55, 4:00, 4:05, 4:20, 4:35, 4:50. Pace group 3:00 will run on gun time, the rest will run based on chip time. Meet the Pace Team!

Course Cutoffs
The Austin Marathon time limits are set to provide the safest and most positive race day experience. Participants in all distances will need to be able to maintain the average pace per mile in order to stay ahead of the streets being re-opened.
Austin Marathon = 16 minute pace (7 hours)
Austin Half Marathon = 18 minute pace (4 hours)
5K = 19 minute pace (1 hour)
Other Commonly Asked Questions
Am I allowed to wear headphones during the race?
Yes, amateur runners are permitted to run with music. USA TRACK & FIELD, the governing body of running events, amended the rule prohibiting headphones to allow them in non-championship events. It is very important that you remain aware of your surroundings while running.
Can I push a stroller?
Stollers are only permitted on the 5K course.
Can I run with my dog?
We wish we could allow it, but, no, animals are not permitted on the run course.
