Austin Marathon and Moody Foundation Celebrate 10 Years of Partnership to Support Central Texas Non-Profits

in Blog post, Press Release

Over $5.5 Million Raised to Date; 2025 Goal Set at $1 Million

Austin, Texas – December 16, 2024 – The Ascension Seton Austin Marathon®, set for President’s Day weekend on February 16, 2025, proudly announces the continuation of its partnership with the Moody Foundation, the presenting partner of Austin Marathon Gives—the event’s Official Charity Program. This milestone year marks a decade of collaboration, with the partnership raising more than $5.5 million to benefit Central Texas non-profits.

We at the Moody Foundation are proud to celebrate a decade of partnership with the Austin Marathon. Together, we have accomplished remarkable milestones by raising over $5.5 million to support the tireless work of Central Texas non-profits. As we set our sights on a goal of $1 million for the upcoming 2025 event, we remain committed to empowering communities, fostering growth, and making a lasting impact through the generosity of the runners and supporters.” — Ross Moody, Trustee, the Moody Foundation.

Based in Galveston, Texas, the Moody Foundation has a long history of funding impactful programs and initiatives across the state. By matching donations raised through Austin Marathon Gives, the foundation continues to support community development—one of its core focus areas—and directly aligns with the Austin Marathon’s mission to enrich Central Texas communities.

Jack Murray, co- owner of the Austin Marathon, expressed his gratitude for the long-standing partnership. “The Moody Foundation has been an invaluable partner in helping us grow the Austin Marathon Gives program over the past decade,” said Murray. “Their unwavering support and matching contributions have allowed us to elevate the impact of our charity program, benefiting countless organizations across Central Texas. We’re thrilled to continue this journey together and look forward to another record-breaking year.”

Through the Austin Marathon Gives program, participants can champion their favorite charities by selecting a non-profit during registration. Each non-profit connects with its runners, sharing their mission, offering training support, and assisting with personalized fundraising efforts. Amplifying these efforts, the Moody Foundation will once again match each official charity’s fundraising totals up to $10,000.

The Austin Marathon Gives program has set an ambitious fundraising goal of $1,000,000 for the 2025 event, ensuring ongoing support for numerous organizations making a tangible difference in the community.

Runners who have already registered can make a difference by visiting the Run for Charity page on our website. There, they can select a charity from our official list, create a personalized fundraising page, and share it with friends and family to gather support. For those who prefer not to create a fundraising page, a one-time donation option is also available. Simply click on your chosen Austin Marathon Gives charity to donate directly.
